Presbyterians love to learn. Through traditional Sunday School classes, special topical series and Bible Studies, adults have many opportunities to study and explore God’s word and world. Our adult programs are always fluid, changing throughout the year.

Throughout the year our staff and Faith Formation ministry team lead Bible and Book studies on a variety of topics that are relevant to the time and place in which the church and society finds themselves. These studies are designed to give participants the opportunity to delve deeper into the Scriptures for the purposes of knowledge and faith formation. There are also adult education opportunities associated with special programming throughout the year.

Adult Sunday School – With numerous adult Sunday School classes, there is certainly something for everyone. The offerings range from traditional Bible studies to a weekly discussion based on current events and their relationship to scripture. We are always evaluating what types of classes are needed by the congregation. There is something for all ages, generations, and stages of life.

Last Week's Sermon

Psalm 100:1

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth!

Reformed theologian John Calvin, from whom much of our theology is derived, said that music is one of the most important parts of worship in the Christian church.

Music plays a central role in worship at First Presbyterian of Greer and there are multiple opportunities to worship God through song.

From our 3K preschool children to octogenarians, opportunities abound to sing praises, play instruments and make a joyful noise! From our 3K preschool children to octogenarians, opportunities abound to sing praises, play instruments and make a joyful noise!

Resounding Joy Handbell Choir

This handbell choir plays intermediate to advanced literature and plays for worship several times a semester, including special worship services. This committed choir attends an annual handbell conference to hone their skills and learn new music. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 6:30pm. Contact Lisa Dillard.

Handbell Ministry

Our church proudly owns over 5 octaves of Malmark handbells and handchimes. The church’s commitment to music is evident in the quality sounds that come our two handbell choirs!

Joyful Noise Singers

Children, youth and adults are welcome to learn the basics of ringing in this beginner-level handbell choir.
Rehearsals are one month on/ one month off on Sundays from 1-2pm. The commitment of the ringers is flexible and on a month-to-month basis. Three or four rehearsals are followed by the opportunity to play in worship.

Children's Music

Our children love to sing as much as we love to hear them! There is an opportunity for nearly every age group to sing in worship and at special events throughout the year. It is always a highlight in worship when our children take center stage to sing glory to God! Contact Lisa Dillard.
