Faith, Fun and Fellowship for our 3rd through 5th graders takes place monthly on a Sunday afternoon. Our older children gather for music, mission projects, fellowship and study.
Elementary age children gather for fellowship, study, and fun one Sunday afternoon every other month.
Infants to 5th grade are welcomed for dinner and faith formation activities on a Friday evening every other month September through May.
Children are integral to our faith and their nurture is part of our calling. We engage with children on Sunday mornings through worship, study, fellowship and care.
All ages are welcome and encouraged to be in worship. Children are engaged in worship through a special invitation to children, where they learn more about the scripture for that day.
Whenever and wherever possible, children are incorporated into worship as musicians, liturgists, ushers, acolytes and bell ringers.
At the entrance to either worship space, children can find a children’s bulletin and activity packets that help children engage in all that is happening in worship through puzzles, coloring, and worship guides.
We have a nursery available for infants through kindergarten. This is a warm and welcoming environment where our youngest children are greeted by friendly staff and volunteers who not only meet their basic needs while at church, but also help build a foundation of faith through stories, crafts and games. The nursery is available for both worship services and during Sunday school for children under three years old.
Children ages 3 years and older have the opportunity to participate in Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. each week. Lessons are taught by creative and loving adult volunteers who engage our children and help form their faith through stories, games, art and role playing. Music is also an integral part of Sunday School as children spend time with members of our music staff learning beloved songs, playing instruments and getting the wiggles out.
For almost 60 years First Presbyterian Church has honored God through sportsmanship, fellowship and play in various church basketball leagues.
