First Presbyterian strives to be good stewards of all that is entrusted to our care including our facilities. Each week we host seven AA meetings, as well as Al-Anon, Al-Ateen and a court appointed abuse program. These life changing programs are offering help and hope to many in our community. As we move into the time of construction and renovations at the church, these groups will continue to meet, but will be moving into places of shared space. If you happen to be at the church and someone approaches you about where meetings are taking place, there is a listing of meeting groups, times and dates on the side of the officer mailboxes, located across from the church offices. We give thanks to God that we are able to partner in mission and ministry with these groups by offering safe and welcoming meeting space.

Like much of the rest of the culture of First Pres, our facility combines elements of the traditional and the contemporary to represent a broad spectrum. Our beautiful Sanctuary, embraced and illuminated by unique stained glass, and serenaded by a classic pipe organ, is the perfect place to sit and sense God’s presence. The Fellowship Hall is a multipurpose room that is used for anything from social events, weekly dinners to our contemporary worship service. A careful eye will notice that there are architectural elements consistent with the sanctuary and other parts of the facility.
Across School Street from the church is Kirk Hall. Residents of Greer will remember Kirk Hall as the original public library, an original primary school and most recently an insurance agency. When the building became available, the leaders of the church had the vision of how the additional space would benefit our growing congregation. In 2014, construction took place on the building to make it a space that the church uses for classrooms, meeting space, a social hall and even a place of lodging for those that may be visiting our congregation.
The Columbarium is a memorial area for the permanent interment of cremated remains or the memorialization of others. It is a place especially for those who love our church, hallowed and sacred to the memory of those who have entered the Church Eternal. On beautiful days, the doors to the Fellowship Hall are opened to the Columbarium’s patio, which shines a testament to the great “cloud of witnesses” that the writer of the book of Hebrews mentions.
Our Fellowship Hall was built in 2003 as a place to gather for a variety of uses. From our Early Service, to Wonderful Wednesday supper to Vacation Bible School, it is a space that benefits all areas of the church. It includes a gathering area and full industrial kitchen, and a professional sound system. Large windows remind us of the architecture that exists in the sanctuary, uniting our buildings to reflect God’s glory.
Our Gymnasium was built to provide a space for athletic activities, indoor events and community outreach. It has a full sized basketball court with a complete scoring system. The Greer Christian Basketball Association leagues plays many of their games here in the winter, and during the summer you can often find children running around in the gym enjoying Vacation Bible School.
